NetPlay buys Sky Channel 848 to go with 847
NetPlay TV, the interactive TV gaming firm, has acquired Sky Channel 848 for the launch of its new product, ‘Live BlackJack’.
NetPlay has acquired the channel from Hollywood TV for £475,000 by way of 2,375,000 new NetPlay ordinary shares at the price of 20p. The transaction is subject to approval from Sky and is expected to be completed on 12 May. The new channel will be next to the NetPlay’s current Sky Channel 847.
Martin Higginson, chief executive of NetPlay, said: “This is another key milestone in the evolution of our business. Blackjack is the most popular game in traditional casinos and as such it was a natural progression for us to launch a “live” TV version of this popular game. Having a dedicated channel next door to our successful “Live Roulette” channel on Sky 847 makes perfect sense, allowing our customers to easily flick between channels depending on which game they want to play.
